Streamlining Financial Transitions
Great support led Abbey to switch all of her accounts to UW Credit Union.
I moved back to Madison a few years ago, but all my accounts and loans were at an Appleton-based financial institution and another bank. I wasn’t looking forward to the task of changing everything over; my previous experiences were time consuming and less than pleasant. That was not the case at UW Credit Union.
I was looking to refinance my car loan first. I first reached out to another financial institution that I was familiar with already, but it didn’t pan out as expected since they didn’t do auto refinance loans.
I went back to the drawing board for another route to take. UW Credit Union came up in my research, and I’d heard some great reviews about their services. One thing I wasn’t sure of was membership eligibility. I thought you had to attend a UW-affiliated school, but that was not the case!
When I reached out to UW Credit Union for next steps, I connected with Virginia in their lending department. She was a great financial partner, and I was so happy to find her! The first thing we talked about was the auto loan. Virginia walked me through all my options so I could consider the best route for my finances. Through our interactions, she mentioned some other options that would fit my financial needs, such as a credit card balance transfer.
At no point did I feel that I was being “sold” any products or services that didn’t fit what I had mentioned in our conversations. I could tell that Virginia truly had my best interest top of mind. She took the time to review every step of the process and answer questions I had along the way. Based on this positive member service, which I very rarely see anywhere else, I knew this was the type of place I wanted to be my primary financial partner. With her help, I soon moved over all my accounts.
One of the best parts of this seamless process was that I was able to communicate with Virginia through email or by phone. With a busy schedule, it can be hard to get to a branch at times. Virginia was flexible on how we communicated. If we were talking through email and I had additional questions, she was always available to talk them out over the phone.
I was really nervous to switch over all of my finances because of previous experiences with other financial institutions. I can confidently say that now, primarily because of Virginia, I am so happy with my choice. I could not be more excited to be a member of UW Credit Union.
