Feels Like Family
Vanessa appreciates the credit union difference of people helping people.

I worked with the San Francisco Giants for eight years when an opportunity with the Brewers came about last year. My sister lives in Milwaukee, and I was looking for some change and wanted to grow my career. Still, the move to Wisconsin was a big one for me.
I work on activating partnerships for the Milwaukee Brewers, and UW Credit Union is one of my partners. I love working with the folks over there; I wanted to be loyal to my partners, so I opened up an account. And then I just fell in love with it. Everyone — from the staff in the branches to the member services call center — is so customer-service-focused and friendly.
Personally, money and finance really scare me. My banking experience in California was the bare minimum of withdrawals, deposits — very simple stuff. My relationship was more transactional. When I opened my UW Credit Union account, I truly felt like part of a family.
Creating a very personable relationship was not what I was expecting when I became a UW Credit Union member. But I really feel like, “wow, they actually care about me — I’m more than a transaction!” That’s something that I've never really experienced before, so I was surprised and impressed with that.
About four months into living here, I bought a house kind of spur of the moment. I was house hunting just for fun and I found something I couldn’t pass up. Now that I’m settling into my new home, I’m in the midst of a kitchen renovation and other projects. Everything house-related is going through my UW Credit Union account.
I have always been intimidated when it came to money and financing and budgeting, but UW Credit Union makes finances fun and comfortable. They're very trendy and I really like their vibe.
Don’t be afraid to be vulnerable, to reach out and ask questions. I've never called a customer service number where people were so kind, making sure you were 100% comfortable with the information they provided you. Every time I walk into a branch someone is eager to help me. If they don't know the answer right away, their colleague knows the answer.
They always say surround yourself with good people. But I also think that refers to good businesses and companies that do good, and I'm super grateful for having UW Credit Union as a banking partner.
UW Credit Union is able to partner with community organizations like the Milwaukee Brewers™ because of our steady and strong financial foundation. We’ve been committed to members and their communities since we first opened our doors in 1931.
