Get to Know Our Branches
As the face of the business, our branch teams interact with our diverse membership every day.
We not only deliver great service, but make connections and help support members’ financial well-being. From tellers to financial specialists to management, working in a branch is demanding and exciting, with many systems to master and always-changing financial technology to learn. In addition to serving members, branch teams may collaborate with corporate departments, including loss prevention, card services and member service operations.
Working in a Branch
The day-to-day life of a branch employee varies by branch.
In general, the environment is busy but manageable to ensure no member interactions are rushed. The branch teams are close knit, with lots of camaraderie and socializing outside of work—as well as team building, learning opportunities and fun on the job.
The most successful branch employees tend to be friendly, natural conversationalists with a drive to help people and a focus on detail and accuracy.
What Our Team Says
Howard G., joined in 1994
I have worked as a teller at the UW-Milwaukee branch for over 24 years. I enjoy working with our members to help them achieve their financial goals. I find especially gratifying helping students, many of whom are having their first experience of handling their own finances. One of the benefits of working here is that I get to interact with people from all walks of life, and from all over the world. This also serves as a reminder that, as a teller, I am the human face of the Credit Union, and that it is my job to do everything I can to make our members feel welcome and valued.

I joined UW Credit Union as a part time teller with the intention of it being my secondary job. While in my part time role, I was instantly drawn to the organization’s commitment to the core values and I had such supportive managers that took an active interest in my career growth in the company. Since I joined UW Credit Union, I have been promoted to Full Time Teller, Call Center Specialist, Financial Specialist, and now I am an Assistant Branch Manager. UW Credit Union also offered tuition assistance for me to earn my MBA. I am so grateful to have joined UW Credit Union and I am so thankful for all of the skills I have learned here.
