UW Credit Union Recognized as 2023 Community Partner of the Year by Fathers Making Progress
Our commitment to community and improving financial well-being continues to guide our partnerships

Milwaukee, WI – June 16, 2023 – UW Credit Union has been awarded the 2023 Community Partner of the Year by Fathers Making Progress.
The award is presented to a “foundation or entity that has gone out of its way to support our mission” and “above and beyond to make our community a better place,” according to the Fathers Making Progress program.
A Milwaukee-area non-profit, Fathers Making Progress was started over a decade ago by a group of concerned Milwaukee fathers who wanted to address the needs of fathers by sharing knowledge and resources in an effort to eradicate the barriers preventing men from being the best fathers they can be. They believe strong fathers make strong families which leads to strong communities.
“Fathers Making Progress was a Fund for Racial Equity recipient in 2021 who we continue to partner with,” says Jaimes Johnson, Milwaukee Director of DEI & Community Engagement for UW Credit Union. “Their mission ‘to improve the community and generational cycles through strengthening fathers’ aligns with our own values of fostering a culture that's diverse, inclusive and helps everyone thrive, and giving back to our communities to improve the financial well-being of people.”
